DONNA FINOCCHIARO, OWNER

Donn Finocchiaro

Donna Finocchiaro is an entrepreneur and business woman who utilized her sixteen year corporate accounting and finance career to effectively build her Professional Organizing Company. Over the past thirteen years, Donna has gained valuable knowledge, allowing her to grow her Company regionally and share her knowledge as an Estate Organizer with others, through mentoring programs and public speaking.

In 2004, Donna left the fast paced world of finance to pursue her passion of bringing home organizing solutions to the general public. She began her career as the Managing Director for Home Works Professional Organizing, quickly doubling the size of the company in eighteen months. When an opportunity presented itself to collaborate with another professional organizer, she jumped at the chance to co-own the first retail store in Connecticut, The Organized Lifestyle, specializing in organizational products and services, located in Guilford, CT. Donna quickly recognized the need of her downsizing clients who were looking to rid their homes of unwanted items, and set off on her own to create Organized East of the River, an Estate Organizing Company based in Marlborough, CT in 2008.

As the needs of her clients increased, she created a local venue to sell unwanted furniture and decor. Wooden-it-be-Nice was established as a Furniture Consignment Company with stores in both Marlborough and South Glastonbury, even housing a Home Design Studio. Over the years, Donna was working with auction companies and other consignors to meet her clients’ growing needs. Leveraging her resources from the past decade, she set out to dramatically simplify the selling process, while expanding the reach of buyers regionally. Through her collaboration with Absolute Auctions and Realty, a New York based Online Auction Company, she is able to provide her clients with a unique method for selling the contents of a home or business.

The vast array of services provided by the Company, and the caring manner in which the team operates, are what makes Lotus Transitions unique and highly sought after.

On a personal note, Donna prides herself on community involvement, supporting local small business owners and entrepreneurs like herself. Her major contributions include serving as President of the Marlborough Business Association (MBA) from 2008 to 2009, where, under her term she revitalized Marlborough Day, a free annual event serving the community. Donna also supports her surrounding towns through active involvement in the community and memberships with the Glastonbury Rotary Club where she chair’s several committees, and the CT River Valley Chamber of Commerce, where she is an Ambassador. For the past four years, Donna has mentored high school students participating in the Entrepreneurial Program and has spoken to hundreds of people over the years on the topics of downsizing, organizing, staging and time management. Most recently, Donna participated in a Habitat for Humanity Women Build project in East Hartford and was honored to be an active member of two Extreme Makeover: Home Edition CT builds!
